Description
OXAL® is indicated in acute intestinal amoebiasis or amoebic dysentery caused by Entamoeba histolytica. OXAL® is indicated for the treatment of Giardiasis caused by Giardia intestinalis (lamblia).
Helminthiasis: OXAL® is an effective anthelmintic against nematodes and cestodes, indicated in the treatment of Enterobius vermicularis, Ascaris lumbricoides, Strongyloides stercoralis, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, Trichuris trichiura, Taenia saginais eanapium eanamenole nanata.
Indications:
- Treatment of intestinal worm infections such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.
- Treatment of amoebiasis caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
How It Works:
- Albendazole: A broad-spectrum anthelmintic that disrupts glucose metabolism in parasites, leading to their death.
- Quinfamide: An antiprotozoal agent that targets Entamoeba histolytica, impairing the parasite’s reproduction and survival.
Dosage and Administration:
- Recommended Dose: Single 10 mL dose (100 mg Quinfamide + 400 mg Albendazole).
- Administration:
- Shake well before use to ensure proper mixing.
- Administer orally using a dosing spoon or syringe.
- Can be taken with or without food.
Precautions:
- Not recommended for children with known hypersensitivity to Albendazole, Quinfamide, or related compounds.
- Use with caution in children with pre-existing liver or kidney conditions.
- Consult a healthcare provider before use if the child is taking other medications or has other medical conditions.
Side Effects:
- Common: Mild nausea, stomach discomfort, or diarrhea.
- Rare: Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, or swelling.
Storage Instructions:
- Store at room temperature (20°C-25°C).
