Description

Clarithromycin is a medium-spectrum macrolide antibiotic for the treatment of infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, caused by different susceptible bacterial species, such as:

1. Upper respiratory infections (eg, pharyngitis, sinusitis).

2. Lower respiratory infections (eg, bronchitis, pneumonia).

3. Acute otitis media.

4. Skin and soft tissue infections (eg, folliculitis, cellulitis, erysipelas).

5. Disseminated or localized infections by Mycobacterium avium or M. intracellulare, and localized infections by M. chelonae, M. fortuitum or M. kansasii.
