Description
Clarithromycin is a bacteriostatic, macrolide antibiotic, with action on intracellular and extracellular bacteria. It is indicated for the treatment of infections of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis and sinusitis); lower respiratory tract infections (acute and chronic bronchitis, community pneumonia, typical and atypical); skin and soft tissue infections (erysipelas, folliculitis, cellulitis, impetigo, abscesses, boils); prevention of the spread of infection by the genus Mycobacterium in HIV-infected patients with CD4 counts <per 100 / mm3. It is also indicated in peptic ulcer disease, for the eradication of H. pylori, with the consequent reduction in the recurrence of duodenal and gastric ulcer with hydrochloric hypersecretion. CLEARMICIN® (Clarithromycin) does not cross-react with beta-lactams, so it is especially useful in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin and its derivatives.
