Ectaprim is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination containing trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. This synergistic formulation targets bacterial folic acid synthesis, effectively treating a variety of infections by halting bacterial growth and replication.

ECTAPRIM ® has a very broad spectrum of action: gram-positive and gram-negative germs, such as streptococci (including beta-hemolytics), staphylococci, pneumococci, meningococci, gonococci, Salmonellas, Klebsiellas, Aerobacter spp, Shigella and cholera vibrio, among others.

ECTAPRIM ® also acts on certain difficult germs such as: Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Proteus vulgaris.

In skin and soft tissue infections: Pyodermatitis, furunculosis, dermatitis, abscesses and infected wounds; burns, neonatal sepsis, septicemia; peritonitis; septic abortion.

In eye infections: Conjunctivitis, blepharitis.

In infections of the digestive system: Gastroenteritis, shigellosis, typhoid fever and other salmonellosis.

In upper respiratory tract infections: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngotracheitis and laryngitis.
