Description
Mild community acquired pneumonia.
– Mild or moderate skin and soft tissue infections caused by S. pyogenes, Streptococci group C and G or S. aureus methicillin sensitive only in those cases in which treatment with beta-lactams is not possible
– Skin and soft tissue infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum (erythrasma)
– Enterocolitis and severe diarrhea caused by Campylobacter jejuni
– Whooping cough
– Diphtheria, as an adjuvant to diphtheria antitoxin
– Urethritis, cervicitis or non-gonococcal proctitis when the antibiotics normally used as the first line to treat these infections are not recommended
– Conjunctivis of the newborn caused by Chlamydia trachomatis
– Lymphogranuloma venereum
Also, orally:
– Pharyngitis / tonsillitis caused by S. pyogenes only in those cases where treatment with beta-lactams is not possible
Secondary prophylaxis of rheumatic fever in penicillin-allergic patients.
– Post-exposure prophylaxis to Corynebacterium diphtheriae
– Post-exposure prophylaxis to Bordetella pertussis
