Description

First line of treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in overweight patients when the prescribed diet and exercise alone are not sufficient for good glycemic control.

• In adults, metformin can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or with insulin.

• In children from 10 years of age and adolescents, metformin can be used alone or in combination with insulin.
