Description

EDARBI® (azilsartan medoxomil) is an orally administered prodrug that is rapidly converted by esterases in the gastrointestinal tract and / or during absorption to the active fraction, azilsartan, a selective angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist or blocker ( ARB) indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents with the exception of products containing aliskiren or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors.
