Description
• ZESTRIL® is indicated in the treatment of arterial and renovascular hypertension, it can be used alone or in combination with other types of antihypertensive agents.
• ZESTRIL® is indicated in the management of congestive heart failure, as adjunctive treatment with diuretics and digitalis when appropriate. High doses reduce the combined risks of hospitalization and mortality (see Dosage and route of administration).
• ZESTRIL® is indicated for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (within the first 24 hours) in patients who are hemodynamically stable, in order to prevent the subsequent development of left ventricular dysfunction or heart failure and improve their survival. Patients should receive the recommended treatment according to their conditions such as thrombolytics, acetylsalicylic acid and ß-blockers.
• Renal complications of diabetes mellitus, in patients with normotensive type 1 diabetes mellitus and type 2 hypertensive patients who have incipient nephropathy characterized by microalbuminuria, ZESTRIL® reduces the urinary excretion rate of albumin.
