It is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of intermittent or persistent allergic rhinitis (previously classified as seasonal or perennial) according to the new classification proposed by the ARIA guidelines (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma), of adult patients, adolescents and children from 2 years of age. In patients with a history of moderate to severe symptoms of intermittent allergic rhinitis, prophylactic treatment with mometasone is recommended for two to four weeks prior to the expected start of pollen season. Mometasone Nasal Spray is also indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with acute rhinosinusitis in patients 12 years of age and older who do not have symptoms or signs of bacterial infection. It is also indicated as an associated treatment together with antibiotic therapy, for acute rhinosinusitis in adult patients and adolescents over 12 years of age.
