ALINIA (Nitazoxanide) 200 mg Oral Dispersible Tablets are an effective antiprotozoal medication designed to treat intestinal infections. Each tablet contains 200 mg of Nitazoxanide and is formulated to disperse in water, offering a convenient solution for individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
Indications:
- Treatment of protozoal infections, including:
- Cryptosporidium parvum (cryptosporidiosis).
- Giardia lamblia (giardiasis).
- Suitable for adults and children aged 4 years and older.
How It Works:
Nitazoxanide inhibits the energy metabolism of protozoa, preventing their growth and leading to their elimination from the body.
Dosage and Administration:
- Recommended Dose:
- Adults and children aged 12 years and older: 200 mg (1 tablet) every 12 hours for 3 days.
- Children aged 4-11 years: Follow the dosage as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
- To administer, disperse the tablet in a small amount of water and ensure it is completely dissolved before drinking.
- Take with food to enhance absorption.
Precautions:
- Not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to Nitazoxanide or its components.
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
