Description
Quinfamide is indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of intestinal amebiasis in its two forms: acute amebiasis and asymptomatic carrier state. Quinfamide is not recommended for the treatment of non-specific diarrhea.
AMEFIN (Quinfamide) 300 mg Tablet is a single-dose antiprotozoal medication used to treat intestinal infections caused by Entamoeba histolytica, including amoebic dysentery. Each tablet contains 300 mg of Quinfamide, a potent compound that effectively eliminates amoebic infections in the gastrointestinal tract.
Indications:
- Treatment of intestinal amoebiasis caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
- Effective against amoebic dysentery and other gastrointestinal infections due to amoeba.
How It Works:
Quinfamide works by interfering with the parasite’s ability to reproduce and survive in the intestines, ultimately leading to the elimination of the infection.
Dosage and Administration:

- 1 tablet (300 mg) as a single dose.
- Take with food to enhance absorption and reduce the chance of stomach irritation.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Precautions:
- Not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to Quinfamide or its components.
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
