Product Description:
AMOEBRIZ (Mebendazole-Quinfamide 300/150 mg) Tablets are a combination medication designed to treat intestinal infections caused by both parasitic worms and Entamoeba histolytica (amoebiasis). Each dose consists of 2 tablets, providing a total of 300 mg of Mebendazole and 150 mg of Quinfamide.
- Mebendazole: An anthelmintic agent that effectively treats common intestinal worms such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. It works by inhibiting the parasites’ ability to absorb glucose, leading to their death and expulsion from the body.
- Quinfamide: An antiprotozoal medication that specifically targets Entamoeba histolytica, responsible for amoebiasis, and works by disrupting the parasite’s ability to reproduce and survive in the intestines.
Indications:
- Treatment of intestinal worm infections such as roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus), and whipworms (Trichuris trichiura).
- Treatment of amoebiasis caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
How It Works:
- Mebendazole: Prevents parasitic worms from absorbing essential nutrients, leading to their death.
- Quinfamide: Inhibits DNA synthesis in Entamoeba histolytica, effectively eliminating the infection.
