Description

Rosuvastatin should be used as a supplement to the diet, when the response to diet and exercise is not sufficient.

Prevention of cardiovascular events: Rosuvastatin is indicated in adult patients with an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease based on the presence of risk markers of cardiovascular disease, such as elevated level of CRP, age, arterial hypertension, low level of C- HDL, smoking, or a family history of premature coronary artery disease. Rosuvastatin is indicated to reduce total mortality and the risk of major cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, stroke, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, or arterial revascularization).

In adult patients with hypercholesterolaemia: Rosuvastatin reduces LDL-Cholesterol (LDL-C), elevated total cholesterol and triglycerides and increases HDL-Cholesterol (HDL-C), in patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial) and dyslipidemia mixed (including Fredrickson Type IIa and IIb). Rosuvastatin also decreases: ApoB, Non-HDL-Cholesterol, VLDL-Cholesterol, VLDL-TG, as well as LDL-C / HDL-C, Total Cholesterol / HDL-C, Non-HDL-C / HDL-C, ApoB / ApoA -I and increases ApoA-I in these populations.

Rosuvastatin is indicated in patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Fredrickson Type III hyperlipoproteinemia).

Rosuvastatin is indicated for the treatment of isolated hypertriglyceridaemia (Fredrickson Type IV hyperlipidaemia).

Rosuvastine reduces total cholesterol and LDL-C in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, either alone or as an adjunct to diet and other lipid-lowering therapies (eg, LDL apheresis).

Rosuvastatin slows or reduces the progression of atherosclerosis.

Children and adolescents 10 to 17 years of age: Rosuvastatin is indicated to reduce total cholesterol, LDL-C, and Apo B in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (HeFHF).
