Description

Diyodohydroxyquinoline is indicated for the treatment of intestinal amebiasis in its two forms: active amoebic dysentery and asymptomatic intestinal amoebiasis (carrier state of amoeba and cysts).

Diyodohydroxyquinoline is not recommended for the treatment of non diarrhea.

Product Description:
DIODOQUIN Oral Suspension contains 4.2 grams of Iodoquinol per 100 mL and is used to treat intestinal infections caused by Entamoeba histolytica (amoebiasis) and other protozoal infections. This 120 mL suspension provides an effective and easy-to-administer treatment, especially for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Indications:

• Treatment of intestinal amoebiasis caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
• Effective for treating other protozoal infections in the gastrointestinal tract.

How It Works:
Iodoquinol is an antiprotozoal medication that targets and kills Entamoeba histolytica and other intestinal protozoa. It works by inhibiting the growth and reproduction of the parasites in the intestines, leading to their elimination from the body.

Dosage and Administration:

• Recommended Dose:
  • Adults: 1-2 tablespoons (10-20 mL) taken 2-3 times per day, or as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
  • Children: Dosage should be based on body weight and prescribed by a doctor.
• Shake the bottle well before use to ensure even distribution of the medication.
• Can be taken with or without food.

Precautions:

• Not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to Iodoquinol.
• Use with caution in individuals with thyroid disorders, as prolonged use may affect thyroid function.
