Description
Hypercholesterolaemia and hypertriglyceridaemia alone or in combination (dyslipidemias types IIa, IIb and IV), as well as dyslipidemias type III and V (although the proportion of patients with the latter two types of dyslipidemia who have been treated with fenofibrate during clinical studies has been lower ) in patients who do not respond to dietary and non-pharmacological measures (eg, weight reduction or increased physical activity), particularly when there is evidence of associated risk factors.
Treatment of secondary hyperlipoproteinemia is indicated if hyperlipoproteinemia persists despite effective treatment of the underlying disease (eg, dyslipidemia in diabetes mellitus). Non-pharmacological measures started before treatment should be continued.
