Description
Treatment of Glucose Intolerance and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and other situations where there is insulin resistance; especially in obese patients, in whom caloric restriction and physical activity are not sufficient to control plasma glucose levels.
GLUCOPHAGE® is also indicated in primary or secondary failures to other oral antidiabetics. In adults GLUCOPHAGE® can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or with insulin.
In children from 10 years of age and adolescents GLUCOPHAGE® can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetic drugs or with insulin.
A decrease in diabetic complications may be shown in overweight adult patients with type 2 diabetes treated with Metformin hydrochloride as a first line of therapy after diet failure.
