Description

Gemfibrozil is a lipid regulating agent that is indicated in: Primary prevention of coronary artery disease (CHD) and myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia, the Fredrickson classification types IIa, IIb, and IV , respectively.

Treatment of other dyslipidemias:

to. Fredrickson types III and V.

b. Associated with diabetes.

c. Associated with xanthomatosis.

Treatment of adult patients with elevated levels of serum triglycerides (hyperlipidaemia types IV and V), who present a risk of pancreatitis and who do not respond adequately to a specific strict diet to control them.
