PENTREXYL® is indicated for the treatment of the following infections due to susceptible strains of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria:

Bacteriological studies should be performed to determine the etiologic agent and its sensitivity to ampicillin. Treatment can be started before the results of sensitivity tests are obtained.
